CPRC schedules internal affairs training, approves consent calendar; closed session yields no reportable action

The Riverside Community Police Review Commission approved the consent calendar and set internal affairs training dates for new commissioners at its Dec. 10 meeting.
Chair Bell asked for and received a motion to approve the consent calendar; Commissioner Dillon moved to approve and Commissioner Lundy seconded. Staff announced that the motion passed.
For training on the internal affairs investigative process, presenters proposed splitting new commissioners into two smaller sessions to avoid creating a quorum. Commissioners informally agreed on two sessions: Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 10:00 a.m. (Commissioners Hundley, Lundy, Chair Bell and Ward) and Thursday, Jan. 15 at 2:00 p.m. (Commissioner Dylan and possibly Commissioner Ferguson and others). Staff will collect RSVPs and distribute materials to commissioners who cannot attend.
The commission recessed to closed session at 6:22 p.m. to consider one case, identified as PC25‑09040. Upon return, the city attorney reported there were no reportable actions from the closed session.
Other administrative items included a reminder from the city manager's office that annual IT cybersecurity training is required and a proposal to form an ad hoc group to work with Riverside Police Department command staff on updating complaint policies and procedures; the ad hoc formation will be agendized for January.
The commission adjourned at 7:04 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2026.
