Farmington Hills to install new gateway signs at I‑696 exits near Orchard Lake Road

"The city of Farmington Hills is excited to welcome everyone who passes through the community with new gateway signs," Rushlow said, describing the signs as a “bold and inviting” new look that will replace a large letter currently at the exit. Construction began last fall, will resume in spring when weather allows, and the new signs and landscaping are expected to be completed by summer, Rushlow said.
City officials said the project is intended to serve as a visible point of pride and to make it clear to thousands of daily drivers that they are entering Farmington Hills. Rushlow added, "We will continue to keep you updated as the project progresses." The city did not specify the contractor, project budget, or exact installation dates.
Next steps include resuming work in spring and regular public updates from the Department of Public Services as milestones are reached.
