The board recommended approval to the City Commission of a conditional use and Level 4 site plan for ABC Supply Company to operate a lumber/roofing materials yard with associated outdoor storage and truck parking at 1127 & 1107 Poinsettia Drive.
Jeff Costello of JC Planning Solutions described the proposal as an expansion of an existing industrial use and said the applicant will reinstate perimeter landscaping, provide hedges and trees adjacent to residential parcels and screen outdoor storage areas from public rights‑of‑way.
Staff summarized findings in the record, noting the site is within an established industrial/commerce district and that required buffering, screening and landscape improvements are proposed; staff also noted the project is within a well‑field production protection area and that forms have been filed with the county to address well‑field concerns.
Board members asked about truck circulation, photometric (lighting) plans and neighbor notification; staff confirmed mailers and on‑site notice to a 500‑foot radius and said a landscape plan was submitted though not uploaded to the presentation packet. The board voted to recommend approval to the City Commission by roll call.
