Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks reports greenhouse ribbon-cutting and partial endowment

A representative of the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks updated the Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Advisory Board on recent fundraising, operations and programming.
The representative said the garden’s greenhouse ribbon-cutting is scheduled for November 11 and that the organization had received another partial endowment reported at about $156,000. "We are in a breakeven position," the representative said, adding that gate receipts and rentals remain down year to date and that the garden is pursuing event rentals (for example, holiday party bookings) to close a roughly $30,000 gap in expected revenues.
Board members asked about collaboration opportunities between the Botanical Gardens and the Parks Horticulture Department; the representative said staff and a board liaison are already coordinating on horticulture hires and programming. The gardens also plan to recruit additional board members next year and invited board members to attend the ribbon-cutting.
The Parks Board thanked the representative and noted interest in exploring partnership opportunities for horticulture and volunteer coordination.
