Staff reported New Kent’s rotation onto the Hampton Roads Alliance board of directors and asked for a representative. Supervisor Pearson moved to appoint John Moyer as New Kent’s representative for a two‑year term ending Dec. 31, 2027; the board polled and recorded unanimous 'Aye' votes.
Later in the session the chair moved to appoint Rick AuPette as coordinator of emergency management, citing Code of Virginia and county code authorities. The clerk polled the board and the motion passed with unanimous 'Aye' votes.
These actions were procedural appointments; no contested nominations or roll‑call dissent were recorded in the work session.
