The Fayetteville Housing Authority board interviewed a slate of applicants and, after an executive session of the four voting commissioners, voted to forward two nominees to the City of Fayetteville nominating committee for final confirmation by the city council.
Chair Commissioner Christina Cole returned the board from executive session and announced the board’s selections: "We would like to nominate Commissioner Moore, Tricia Moore for this position," and the board also moved to nominate Charles (Mike) Russell for the other opening. Commissioners then voted to approve the nomination resolutions and will send both names to the City of Fayetteville’s nominating committee for their review.
The board explained the selection process: two seats are open (one full five-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2026; one partial term through Dec. 31, 2027). After the city nominating committee reviews the recommendations, the Fayetteville City Council will take final action at a later meeting.
The board did not record any dissent and the motions passed by majority vote. Director Tapley will forward the board’s formal recommendation packet to the city committee.
