Long Range Planning launches downtown master plan outreach; new Conveio platform and fall engagement planned
Summary
Long Range Planning presented a public‑forward process to update Fayetteville’s 21‑year‑old downtown plan: staff will gather community input this fall using a Conveio platform, aim for a draft by summer 2026 and run pop‑up outreach (Farmer's Market Oct. 4).

Britton Bostick of Long Range Planning introduced a downtown master plan update process intended to front‑load community input before hiring consultants. Bostick said the existing plan is about 21 years old and that the city has doubled its population since the plan was adopted.
The department will use a platform called Conveio to solicit site‑based comments and to let residents comment directly on draft plan documents. Bostick said the team will run a fall outreach campaign, publish a new web page by Sunday and host an in‑person presence at the Farmers Market on Oct. 4 (with a fire department dog appearance) to encourage early feedback. The process is expected to run through 2026 with a draft plan available in late summer 2026, followed by formal review and a council adoption phase.
Bostick encouraged the Active Transportation Advisory Committee to engage with the effort and noted staff would provide updates as the plan develops. Casey Black was introduced as a new outreach and communications specialist on the long‑range planning team.
