Commissioner Dan Fleckenstein reopened the topic, asking, "At our September meeting, we made a resolution in support of expansion of the BOCUS ball fields. And I was wondering, what are the mechanics of that resolution?" Staff said they had taken a printed copy to the clerk's office but that the proposal was broad in scope and the clerk requested clarification about what the commission intended to support.
Scott Bell said the commission can support either the concept or specific funded elements and that staff will request the presentation materials from Executive Director Adam Imperato. The goal is to produce a clarified resolution for the commission to review, ensuring wording aligns with the commission's purview and avoids committing to items that are unfunded or outside the commission's authority.
Staff also noted the timing of the budget cycle and said they will prepare a draft resolution and bring supporting materials to the commission prior to the upcoming budget discussions so the commission can decide whether to endorse specific elements or a general concept.
