The Wasilla Parks and Recreation Commission elected its leadership and approved routine business during its meeting. Commissioners recorded attendance, nominated officers and approved the agenda and minutes for the previous meeting.
Commission members moved quickly through procedural items. An unidentified commissioner nominated a colleague for co-chair and another commissioner nominated Dave Tuttle for chair; the nominations were seconded and approved by voice vote. The commission then voted to approve the meeting agenda and moved to accept the minutes from September.
During a brief minutes review, a commissioner raised a factual correction: item 6.2 (Mr. Griffith's report) states the work involved "several pounds" of trash, but the speaker said the intended wording was "several loads." Staff agreed to verify the correct measurement and update the record at the next meeting or circulate a correction by email.
The meeting then moved from unfinished to new business by motion, allowing the commission to begin discussion of planned events and program items on the agenda.
