The Stephens County Board of Commissioners approved an alcohol license for EAZ Quick Mart LLC, declared older 911 hardware surplus for potential transfer, approved two invoices over $10,000, and voted to enter executive session for pending litigation.
The Stephens County Board of Commissioners approved a series of administrative items and then voted to enter executive session for pending litigation.
Mr. Hamilton said the county clerk had reviewed and found complete the documentation for an alcohol license; the board approved EAZ Quick Mart LLC’s alcohol license on a voice vote. A first reading for Shreeji Tacowa, LLC was announced and scheduled for final action at the board's February meeting.
The board approved a resolution declaring listed 911 hardware as surplus so older unsupported equipment can be made available as spare parts to other communities under an appropriate agreement. Mr. Hamilton explained the 911 hardware is no longer supported and suggested it could be transferred under agreement.
The board also approved invoices and quotes over $10,000: Acree Oil Company for $11,234.95 (regular gasoline) and Peak Pavement for $44,878 (standby striping for road work). Mr. Hamilton said funds for the Peak Pavement invoice were budgeted through SPLOST.
After regular business, Mr. Hamilton requested an executive session for pending legal action. The board moved, seconded and voted to enter executive session for pending litigation. During procedural remarks a commissioner thanked Jason Holland of the road department for a jump box that helped a late‑arriving commissioner get to the meeting.
