Monroe County approves settlement MOU with IU Health to finalize clinic transition

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a settlement memorandum of understanding with IU Health that the board said finalizes the county’s public-health clinic contract and clarifies next steps for records and equipment.
Speaker 2 told the board the agreement “provides how the health department will retain the records that IU Health has as well as what equipment the health department will be retrieving and using on our new space from IU Health,” and that it “also handles the disposition of a generator which IU Health will be buying.” Speaker 1 moved to approve the MOU and said the board will ratify the action at the Jan. 29 meeting; Speaker 3 seconded the motion.
Mr. Cockrell called the roll for the motion. Commissioner Thomas, Commissioner Jones and Commissioner Madera each voted yes; the motion passed, 3–0. The board recorded that ratification would occur at the Jan. 29 meeting.
No public comment was offered at the time of the vote. The agreement, as presented, addresses records retention and the transfer or continued use of equipment at the county health department; it does not itself include additional operational funding language.
