Terre Haute council confirms multiple board and commission appointments, approves council committee assignments

At its Jan. 15 meeting, the Terre Haute City Council completed nominations and votes to fill several advisory boards and commissions.
After nominations and a reverse-alphabet ballot for two open seats on the Information Technology Advisory Board, the council president announced that Steve Chenoweth and Dallas Wilson were selected as appointees. Later, nominations for the Redevelopment Commission produced appointments of Aaron Aderson and Karim Nassar. The Thrive steering committee filled one seat when Natalie Green was nominated and approved by voice vote.
Council President Dingle read a list of councilmember appointments to boards and committees and Councilperson Boland moved to approve the list, seconded by Councilperson Thompson. The council voted in favor on the motion with members answering "Aye," and the president announced the appointments were approved.
No contested policy votes occurred beyond the appointment ballots and the motion to adopt council committee assignments. The council also announced that applications for the Human Relations Commission vacancy close Jan. 30 at 4 p.m., with the appointment scheduled for the first meeting in February.
The meeting concluded after a motion by Councilperson Azar, seconded by Councilperson Chalos, to adjourn; the council voted and the session was adjourned.
