Franklin County EMS reports positive 2025 financial result, highlights operational improvements

Christie presented Franklin County EMS' fourth-quarter 2025 ambulance, adjustments and collections report and asked the board to approve the adjustments and collections reconciliations. She reported that fourth-quarter deposits totaled $368,347.98, annual ambulance revenue exceeded $1.2 million, adjustments for the quarter totaled about $154,280.15 and $11,612.25 was sent to collections.
Christie credited improved documentation and billing practices, noting staff and trainers helped increase correct report entry and insurer collections. She said unit dispositions resulted in patient contact about 86% of the time and that the system transported roughly 71% of patients encountered. Christie said average scene times were under 20 minutes in the fourth quarter and that mutual-aid runs into Anderson, Douglas and Osage counties occurred.
A motion to approve the fourth-quarter report, adjustments and collections was made and approved by roll call.
Next steps: staff will continue to monitor revenue, deny/adjustment patterns and billing practices and report back to the commission as needed.
