An administrator told the board the agreement had not been updated since October 2016 and that changes in state law (referenced in the meeting as "Senate Bill 2,131") prompted a revision of the IGA. The administration recommended approval to incorporate key provisions of the new law into the district’s contract with the village for assignment of officers to schools.
Board members moved, seconded and approved the IGA by roll call vote. No changes to the agreement were described in detail during the meeting; the vote was a procedural approval to adopt the revised intergovernmental agreement.
The board’s approval authorizes administration to finalize and implement the updated SRO assignment terms with Bolingbrook.
