Speedway School Board approves minutes, year‑end budget transfers, 2026 non‑teaching salaries and personnel report

The board approved the recommended 2026 salary, wages and benefits schedule for non‑teaching employees after a motion by Board Member (S4) and a second from the presiding officer; no discussion was recorded and the motion passed 5‑0. The board also voted to appoint current officers as the board of finance and scheduled the finance board meeting for 7:15 p.m. on Jan. 13, 2026, after a motion by Board Member (S8) and a second by Board Member (S6).
Board members acknowledged $264,204.69 in grants received by Speedway Schools. The personnel report was presented and approved; it listed one resignation (Stacy Burke, girls head soccer coach at Speedway High School), three recommended hires (Christian Redmond, assistant wrestling coach; Tim Woodlock, head baseball coach at Speedway Junior High School; and Salam Labab, custodian at Speedway High School) and one volunteer coach (Robert Ronnell Junior). A motion to approve the personnel report was made by Board Member (S6), seconded by the presiding officer, and passed 5‑0.
The board also discussed the superintendent’s annual independent evaluation; all five board members rated the superintendent effective or highly effective across 24 items and the document will be signed to submit to the state school board association. A motion to approve the evaluation on the record was not recorded in the transcript.
Before adjourning to approve claims, board members recognized Speedway High School senior Sam Goodman for his selection to participate in the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day.
