Speedway redevelopment commission approves claims, developer payment, contract extension and pay increase

The Town of Speedway Redevelopment Commission on Dec. 22 approved a set of routine and administrative items including minutes, claims, a developer payment, a consultant contract extension and a pay adjustment for the redevelopment director.
By consent the commission approved the November meeting minutes. After a staff review of claims that called out Keyser (Keyser/Keizer) Consulting invoices, Bomar invoice reconciliation, and roundabout invoices, the commission voted 5-0 to approve claims and expenses as presented.
The commission approved a $21,002.91 payment to DA Dental Partners LLC under a previously negotiated economic development agreement after staff confirmed the developer obtained a certificate of occupancy at the former Burger Chef site (now a Tropical Smoothie location). The motion to pay DA Dental Partners passed 5-0.
The commission also approved a contract extension for Keizer Consulting Group LLC to account for revised timing on Main Street improvements and a July 2026 Community Crossing grant application; staff said the extension does not increase the original contract monetary amount. The extension was approved by voice vote.
Finally, commissioners approved applying a 2.5% pay increase to the redevelopment director to align the position with a town council-approved salary ordinance. Commissioners praised the director's work since April and approved the increase 5-0.
