Public Works committee recommends three firms for general engineering agreements

The Public Works Committee at its January meeting voted to recommend that the city enter into general engineering and survey consulting service agreements for 2026–27 with Emmons and Oliver Resources Inc., Traffic Analysis and Design, Inc., and Native Range Ecological. The motion to recommend the agreements to finance and common council was made by Member North and seconded; the committee voted in favor and the motion carried.

Staff said the agreements are standard professional service contracts that allow staff to issue task orders to firms for specific work such as stormwater consulting and roadway design. Ben, who presented the package, said the Traffic Analysis and Design firm will be used for pedestrian-safety initiatives this year and that Native Range Ecological brings stormwater expertise needed for upcoming projects. City engineer Luke Malitek was noted as participating on the line.

Ben told the committee the packet includes price sheets and a template agreement; he said the city attorney will review the agreements before staff brings them to finance and then to city council for final approval. Committee member Oliver Myers asked whether certificates of compliance for equal benefits had been received; staff said they would check with the team that assembled the packet and ensure those documents are obtained prior to finance and council action.

The committee recorded the motion on the record and voted in favor. The committee did not adopt any substantive changes to the agreements at the meeting; staff will return to finance and council with the full set of documents once compliance paperwork is complete.
