Speaker 1 introduced the proposal; the motion was seconded. The senior center manager (Speaker 6) described current bookings (planning board on the third Wednesday; finance committee typically on a second Thursday) and said scheduling will continue through her office using an annual wall calendar and coordination with department heads.
Board members discussed practical matters: the senior center currently issues keys (Speaker 6 said nine keys exist, with copies held by the planning board, finance committee, cleaner and others), and the group considered using a lockbox to manage temporary access codes. The senior center manager said she is obtaining quotes for a second electronic entry door as a backup after a recent front‑door lock failure.
Members also raised logistics for committees that need secure file access. One member proposed placing a locked file cabinet in the senior center and recommended committees coordinate with the manager to arrange secure storage and scheduling. The selectmen approved the motion by voice vote.
Board members asked committees to meet with the senior center manager to schedule recurring meetings and to identify any storage or access requirements before the arrangement takes effect.
