Ridgeland resident tells supervisors she is being targeted by drones and chemical exposures; sheriff’s office investigating

At the board meeting a Ridgeland resident, Irma Blunt of 521 Ticula Road, told supervisors she has repeatedly discovered evidence she said shows people have entered her home, tampered with food and medications, altered wiring in the attic, and repeatedly smelled strong chemical fumes; she also said vehicles repeatedly park near her house and that she has photographed activity.

Irma Blunt told the board she has made multiple reports to law enforcement over the prior months and that a deputy who visited her home smelled the reported fumes and corroborated the odor. "I'm afraid for my life," Blunt said as she described sleepless nights caused by the disturbance.

Deputy Reed (sheriff's department) said deputies have responded several times, checked with gas companies, worked with the fire department and queried the FAA about reported drone activity but so far have not located a definitive source. He said investigators will continue to review reports, place additional patrols in the area and follow up with the resident, and asked her to provide photos and any evidence she can gather.

Board direction and resources: The chair and board members urged continued coordination with the sheriff's office. Sheriff staff pledged to pull investigative reports, follow up with the resident and keep the board informed of progress.

The board did not take formal action beyond directing the sheriff's office to continue its investigation; the resident was advised to keep communicating with investigators and to supply documentation and photos to support the inquiry.
