Castleberry ISD presenters introduced Officer Yosina Serrano as the newest member of the district police department, assigned to Reach High School and Troops Learning Center, and welcomed her before the Board of Education.
Presenters said Serrano comes to the district from the Texas Health Resources Police Department, has roughly seven-and-a-half years in law enforcement beginning as a patrol officer in Ferris, Texas, was named rookie of the year in 2016, and holds an advanced peace officer license. The presenter also noted Serrano’s certifications as a field training officer and a mental health peace officer, her bilingual Spanish proficiency, and prior work for Dallas Independent School District as a financial clerk and girls’ soccer coach.
Officer Serrano thanked the board and said it was an honor to be present. Presenters and Serrano noted an intention to build relationships with the community and to provide safety and security for students, staff and visitors.
