Designers working on the Aspen'Pitkin County Airport modernization told the Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 18 that public input and task-force feedback are coalescing around a few priorities: a high-quality, welcoming terminal that reflects the valley's character; better, sheltered multimodal connections; and long-term operational efficiency.
Presenters said more than 300 survey responses and two public open houses informed the concepts shown to the board: a "pavilion" scheme that spreads ground-transport modes across the site (dropped because it scored poorly), a two-loop plan that creates a central ground-transport hub, and a single-loop scheme that separates cars above and shuttles/transit below to…
