Beer board approves distributor and two hotel on‑premises licenses

The Knox County Beer Board met Jan. 26 and approved three applications.
Best Brands (owner Seth Eskind, Nashville) applied for a distributor (on- and off‑premise) license for 0200 Upper Ridge Way in Knoxville. Eskind affirmed compliance with state and county beer laws and said employees completed server training. County codes, the fire marshal and sheriff reported no issues; the Tennessee Department of Agriculture paperwork was noted as required. Commissioner Oster moved to approve; roll‑call vote carried with all members voting aye.
The board also approved on‑premises licenses for two Marriott hotels at Langley Place in Cedar Bluff — Residence Inn (215 Langley Place) and Courtyard by Marriott (216 Langley Place). Applicant Sanjay Patel represented both properties, confirmed ownership and server training for staff, and said the properties have had prior liquor inspections. The Residence Inn approval was made pending submission of a certificate of occupancy; both motions passed by roll call with unanimous aye votes.
Clerk’s office staff and the board reminded applicants to follow up with the County Clerk and Tennessee Department of Agriculture for outstanding paperwork.
