Trumbull County commissioners approve consent agenda: minutes, permits, reports and a $33,000 protective-services contract

The Trumbull County Board of Commissioners approved its consent agenda, carrying motions that accepted prior meeting video recordings as minutes, authorized permits and received multiple departmental reports.
Among the actions, the board authorized Tony Bernard, president of the Board of Commissioners, to execute the annual federal equitable sharing agreement and certification report for the fiscal year ending 12/31/2025 and to permit the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office to file the document electronically. The board also concurred with the county engineer to grant right-of-way and special hauling permits requested by local carriers and shippers, including B and G Sawmill, Shuttler Transport LLC, DD and S Express Inc., and JRO Transportation Services Inc.
The board received and placed on file the Trumbull County Transit operating and financial report for 01/01/2025–12/31/2025, submitted by transit administrator Mike Salimone and senior levy administrator Diane Jercovic. The board also received the December 2025 Veterans Service Commission monthly activity report.
The commissioners approved a purchase-of-service contract (No. 776-26-50) between the Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services and Guardianship and Protective Services Inc. to provide Title XX protective services for adults; compensation is $58 per hour billed in quarter-hour increments, not to exceed $33,000, and the agreement is effective 10/01/2025 through 09/30/2026. The board authorized the president to sign and accept substantial completion of the Smith Stewart Road sanitary sewer improvements project (No. 2-SD-17) in Vienna Township and designated professional design firms as prequalified pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 153.68 for 2026 water and sanitary sewer projects. All motions carried by unanimous recorded votes of the commissioners present.
