The council approved a second reading of an ordinance amending Municipal Code section 6.12.045 related to solid‑waste billing (council voice/roll‑call vote recorded as 'Aye'). The ordinance’s text and specific billing changes were included in the council packet; staff were available to answer questions.
Council also approved authorizing a contract with Atwell LLC to design/construct bike lanes on West Stewart and 23rd Street NW. Staff said the initial public meeting revealed neighborhood concern about eliminating on‑street parking, and the city is conducting a parking‑use survey of Stewart and cross streets and expects to hold a follow‑up public meeting (staff estimated in February) to present results and next steps; residents will be notified of that meeting.
Both items were approved during the consent process.
