District opens kindergarten registration window March 30; online and extended-hour options available

Doctor Cassell told the board the district’s kindergarten registration window for the 2026–27 school year will open March 30 and run through May 22, and noted parents may enroll any time up to the start of school. Registration materials, including health and immunization records and a physician-completed health assessment, are available in English and Spanish and can be uploaded through the district website.
Cassell said the district will run "Kindergarten 101" sessions at at least eight elementary schools and requires each school to host two extended-hours events so working families can enroll children outside normal work hours. The registration materials and flyers have been posted by the district public information office and include a QR code linking to enrollment pages.
Cassell also said the district has begun collecting questions about using additional outreach such as county billboards and that staff will bring billboard quotes and prime-location analyses to the finance committee for consideration.
The board received the enrollment plan as information; Cassell said she will update the website as outreach and extended-hour schedules are finalized.
