Jessica, speaking on behalf of the United Way of East Central Alabama’s Hope United program, thanked the council for the partnership and for raising awareness locally. "I would just like to say thank you for your partnership for all of our programs," she said.
Council members signed the proclamation and posed for photos following the reading. The council did not take formal policy action beyond adopting and signing the proclamation; the city indicated it will continue partnerships and outreach consistent with the proclamation’s commitments.
