The Fountain Hills Unified School District board unanimously approved updated special education policies and procedures for 2025–2026 after staff said the Arizona Department of Education asked the district to expand its "child find" language to clarify how students in unorganized territories are identified and evaluated.
Speaker 10 told trustees that the only substantive change requested was expansion of the child-find section; "No other changes have been made to this document," the presenter said (SEG 631–644). Speaker 2 moved to approve the updated policies (SEG 650); Speaker 5 seconded (SEG 653) and the board approved the measure by voice vote (SEG 654–657).
