The Crown Point City Planning Commission elected John Marshall as chair for 2026 and Rich Day as vice chair during its Jan. 26 meeting, and reappointed the incumbent executive secretary, identified in the record as Josh.
The nominations were opened after roll call and a pledge of allegiance. Commissioners nominated Marshall for chair, and after a motion and second he was confirmed by roll call. Commissioners then nominated and confirmed Rich Day for vice chair. The commission also renominated Josh for executive secretary; that nomination was seconded and approved by roll call.
The votes were conducted by roll call with all present members voting in favor. The commission noted these leadership decisions occur annually at the first meeting of the year and framed them as organizational housekeeping before moving to new business.
The meeting proceeded to substantive agenda items after the officers were seated; no additional actions were taken on personnel or appointments at the Jan. 26 session.
