Council honors Greg Stowers Jr., Indianapolis 10 Point Coalition and Don Colvin

A special resolution celebrated Greg Stowers Jr. for his service as chief administrative officer and policy director to the council; sponsors detailed his civic work, staff mentorship and leadership roles across local organizations. The council adopted the resolution by voice vote, and Stowers addressed the chamber, thanking colleagues, staff and family.
The council also adopted a resolution recognizing the Indianapolis 10 Point Coalition for more than two decades of faith-based, volunteer-led patrols and work aimed at addressing youth violence in targeted ZIP codes. Sponsors said the coalition has reported multiple years with reduced violent incidents in its patrol areas; a coalition representative accepted the council’s recognition and thanked members and partner churches.
A third resolution honored Don Colvin for more than 35 years at Indy Parks, citing his role in securing and shepherding more than $150 million in park projects, leadership on Circle City Forward initiatives and a record of transforming park amenities. Colvin addressed the chamber and expressed gratitude for colleagues and staff.
Each resolution invited the mayor to join by affixing his signature and was entered into the council record upon passage. These actions are ceremonial recognitions and do not create new policy or budgetary obligations.
