Saint Charles Parish lists spring registration, dances and summer job program dates

Mister Jewell, a Saint Charles Parish official, urged residents to register children for spring sports by the deadline and listed available programs, then outlined several upcoming community events and the summer work-experience opportunity.
He said "tomorrow is the very last day" to register for spring sports and listed baseball, T-ball, softball, tennis and AAU track and field; he added that the parish is in a late-registration window and that late fees will apply. The parish's parks and recreation team will organize teams, gear and communications to parents about practice and game schedules.
Mister Jewell announced the Crew of Old Timers dance on Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center with doors opening at 10:30 a.m., music by Ryan Fore and Fore a Tradition, and an RSVP phone number (985) 783-5090. He also said the parish is accepting applications for an eight-week 2026 summer work-experience program through Let's Work River Parish for residents ages 18 to 24 and provided a contact number (985) 783-5030.
Other events listed included Trash Bash on April 18 (in conjunction with Love the Boot Week), Fish That Rodeo on May 9, the parish's July 3 celebration connected to America 250, a veterans luncheon on Nov. 5, a senior Christmas luncheon on Dec. 10 and a toy-and-gift fund on Dec. 12. The parish said it will post reminders to residents in advance.
