CC Road to remain closed through March 13 for pile-driving; pump-station foundation work advancing

Mister Jewell, a Saint Charles Parish official, said CC Road will be fully closed through March 13 between the KCS railroad and Airline to allow crews to install sheet piling and drive batter piles as part of a pump-station construction project. "It's gonna be closed through March 13," he said, calling the pile-driving work "very dangerous" and explaining the closure is necessary to prevent injuries in an active worksite.
The parish said residents will still be able to access CC Road from the KCS railroad to the Spillway Road and River Road, and that haul-truck traffic and residents of Simbel Industries and Vickers Lane will need to use Spillway Road or River Road. At the site the presenter identified as "site number 2," emergency vehicles will have one lane open for access while a portion of the roadway is removed to allow sheet-pile driving.
On related infrastructure work, Mister Jewell said the working slab for a new pump station has been poured and that crews have driven 42 18-inch concrete piles into that slab. He said "there's gonna be another 2 foot thick reinforced sump foundation that's gonna be poured on top of this," after which the pump-station structure will begin to rise.
Mister Jewell also reported that the rehabilitation of the Westbank River intake pylon structure has been completed: older wooden pilings were replaced with stronger metal structures to improve structural stability, reduce routine-operation safety risks, and increase resilience to future storms to help ensure reliable parish water services.
The parish asked residents to plan alternate routes during the closure and said emergency access will be maintained in limited lanes at the designated site. The parish did not provide a contact for project management on the record in the announcements.
