Commissioners said the extension is intended to keep summer programming available for families; one commissioner noted that more than 150 children were turned away from programs last year and urged staff to explore ways to expand capacity.
City staff explained the YMCA will continue to pay operating expenses during the extension. The addendum passed on a roll-call vote; commissioners recorded "yes" votes on the record.
