District previews preliminary 2025-26 budget and reports receipt of draft audit

Staff highlighted deferred maintenance reductions compared with prior years and said the draft budget will be refined through budget-subcommittee meetings and subsequent public hearings.
On the audit, staff reported receipt of the draft audit from Harshal & Company, said initial reviews showed no control deficiencies and that staff and the district treasurer will complete review before the board considers final adoption in May.
No final budget decisions were taken at the meeting; staff invited commissioners to participate in upcoming budget-subcommittee meetings.
