Humboldt County planning commission continues Daniels coastal permit, approves several consent items

The Humboldt County Planning Commission on Oct. 2 continued the Daniels Coastal Development Permit to Nov. 6, 2025, after staff told the commission the applicant submitted a late request and neighbors indicated they support the continuance. The chair called for a voice vote to continue the item and commissioners carried the motion.
After the Daniels continuance, commissioners read and approved the remaining consent items. The commission approved the Satterlee General Plan Amendment and zone reclassification, the French lot line adjustment and Class B agricultural preserve in Eddersburg, the Holiday minor subdivision in the McKinleyville area, the Matthew Daisy conditional use and special permit in Dinsmore, and moved the Alves residential parcel map (formally listed as f5) onto and approved it on the consent calendar after staff reported the applicant agreed to Public Works’ recommendations.
The chair noted there were no public speakers on the non‑agenda items and no commissioners requested items be pulled from consent. The chair read each consent title aloud and recorded a block approval by voice vote.
Next steps: The Daniels Coastal Development Permit will return to the commission’s Nov. 6 meeting. Consent items approved on Oct. 2 will proceed per standard processing and any appeals or administrative review requests will follow existing timelines.
