Board hears Family Resource Centers video; receives countywide report

Supervisor Bone introduced the program and invited FRC coordinators to present a short video showing how centers provide food distribution, clothing closets, caregiving supports and case navigation to families in rural and urban communities. Amy Teronis (Southern Humboldt FRC coordinator) and other staff described partnerships with First 5, Changing Tides Family Services and local health providers to support families, summer programs and home visiting work.
Speakers and the video emphasized FRCs' role as a community‑rooted access point for services that otherwise require multiple referrals. Supervisors praised the centers for their countywide reach and partnerships; the board moved to "receive and file" the report and approved the motion by voice vote (5–0).
Staff noted continued coordination with partner agencies and encouraged residents to contact local FRCs for services and referrals.
