DeSoto board approves minutes, financial reports and routine business; meeting adjourns

At the Jan. 27 meeting the DeSoto County School District board processed routine business and votes, approving minutes, financial reports, and other agenda items before adjourning.

The board approved the superintendent's agenda (which included a late school‑safety addition) on a motion by Mrs. Mercer with a second from Mrs. Chancey. The Jan. 13 minutes were approved on a motion by Mrs. Chancey with Dr. Goodman seconding. The financial reports were approved on a motion by Mrs. Mercer, seconded by Dr. Goodman. Routine business and new business items were each approved on separate motions, and the meeting concluded on a motion to adjourn by Mrs. Mercer. Each approval was recorded by voice vote with board members answering "aye."

Chair noted there were no public presentations on agenda or non‑agenda items. The meeting was declared adjourned at 5:38 p.m.

What happens next: Records will reflect the approved minutes and financial reports; the board will present legislative priorities in Tallahassee the following morning.
