Adams County approves $243,000 contract for Chester Willis park restroom

The Adams County Board of Supervisors voted to award Phoenix Construction the contract to build a restroom building at the Chester Willis park project for $243,000, the bid amount previously approved by the board. Joey Perr, the project's landscape architect, presented the company's certificates of insurance and bonds and asked the board to authorize execution of the contract and a notice to proceed.
"I would like to present, for your approval, a contract to construction, which is for the amount of $243,000," Perr told the board. The board moved to approve the contract, authorized the chair to sign and directed staff to issue a notice to proceed and schedule a pre-construction meeting.
Board members discussed oversight and sequencing of related utility and sewer work and confirmed that county designees Bobby and Johnny (previously designated) will oversee construction coordination. The contractor said he would be on site for pre-construction coordination and that signage would be installed ahead of work.
Next steps: staff will finalize contracts, issue the notice to proceed, convene the pre-construction meeting and monitor coordination with ongoing sewer-force-main work and utility connections.
