Chair Gupta described a card from sculptor Nikki Adani proposing aluminum bird sculptures. Commissioners discussed the idea of a rotating public-art space (a model used in Yountville) rather than only permanent pieces, and identified potential locations such as the town-hall lawn and downtown areas. Several commissioners urged first consulting town staff (Greg) and studying site visibility, traffic and neighborhood responses before selecting a location.
The commission moved and approved a motion to contact Nikki Adani to invite a proposal for a future project. Commissioners also discussed the Scott Flushar proposal to add signage along the bike path and near the ferry terminal; members agreed to defer further action on that item until after Post's master-plan review and the March Post meeting.
Next steps: staff and interested commissioners will contact Nikki Adani to request a proposal and consult with town staff about potential permanent or rotating display locations and any required permits. The Scott Flushar proposal will be revisited following Post review.
