Council approves emergency sewer repair contract, extends on‑call traffic contracts and awards slope‑restoration design work

On a related procurement item, council approved staff’s recommendation to extend three on‑call traffic engineering contracts for the additional two years permitted under the Beaumont Municipal Code and to convert the previously coupled cap into individual not‑to‑exceed totals: Fair and Peers ($500,000), STC ($480,000) and EXP ($120,000). The contracts provide continuing technical support for traffic and transportation tasks.
Council also approved a professional services agreement with Cozad and Fox Inc. (design firm) for slope restoration work at the Desert Lawn/Tuckwood golf course. The three‑year agreement runs Feb. 2, 2026, through Feb. 2, 2029, for an amount not to exceed $65,984.
What happens next: work on the sewer protection will begin under the emergency authorization and be incorporated into a mid‑year budget amendment; on‑call consultants will continue to be available for city assignments; the Cozad and Fox design contract will move into design and permitting steps for slope restoration.
