Committee approves referral of 2026 state teacher supplement ($962) to full board

The committee voted to refer the 2026 state teacher supplement amount to the full board after staff confirmed the figure and explained how eligibility is determined.

"This current year will be $962," Miss McLean said, adding that the district typically pays the supplement once a year in May to teachers and instructional support staff on the certified pay scale. She explained eligibility and exact amounts are determined by a Department of Public Instruction formula that accounts for local property tax effort and other factors.

Miss McLean noted that some large districts previously excluded from the distribution remain ineligible, and that the list of nonrecipients has changed as tax bases evolved. She said the district staff will proceed with the referral so the full board can formally accept the amount and process the May payroll adjustments.

The committee approved forwarding the supplement item to the full board by voice vote.
