Wason described snow-control challenges following more than a foot of snow in a 24-hour period, and said staff are running a 2026 pilot to remove snow from prioritized pedestrian corridors (for example, the east side of South Walnut from Winslow to 1st/2nd Streets). He said contractors are clearing overpasses that cross I-69 and that sanitation services experienced a two-day delay but are expected to resume, urging residents to make carts accessible.
Finally, the board approved claims in the amount of $9,133,554.14 by roll call vote. The board adjourned after completing the agenda.
The city indicated it will continue to coordinate cleanup, sanitation recovery and pedestrian-priority snow removal over the coming weeks.
