Subcommittee moves bill letting chiropractors accept larger pretreatment payments

Members asked whether chiropractic associations support the measure; the sponsor said industry groups back the change. Representative Groh asked whether other physicians hold patient funds for future treatment; the sponsor confirmed other providers use trust accounts for prepayments and surgeries, and said chiropractors would be placed on the same footing.
The committee voted 18–0 to report the bill favorably.
