At the start of the Nov. 21 Committee on Taxation meeting, members approved two requests for bill introduction without objection.
Representative Hoffman asked to introduce RS2797, described as clarification language to the Neighborhood Revitalization Act; the chair recorded no objections and the committee approved the request.
Riley Scott, speaking on behalf of Waco and Cimarron Valley Railroad, requested introduction of RS2634, described as amendments to the existing short-line rail tax credit. The committee again recorded no objections and approved the request for introduction.
No formal committee votes on the merits of either proposal were taken; both were approved only for introduction to the legislative process.
