During public comment April 9, Sheila Blair, representing Launch Lenawee, gave the board a rundown of small-business supports and training opportunities available to local entrepreneurs.
Blair said the "Ask the Expert" series — which includes an IT and cyber security panel held the previous night — has been well attended by business owners seeking free advice and that more sessions run through June. She also announced summer dates for the LEAP program, calling it "a series of classes that take you from I have a business idea to actually launching your business."
Blair highlighted a workforce development event hosted by Sandy Heights University on Friday morning at 8 a.m. on campus that will address using the Going Pro Talent Fund with Michigan Works to obtain funding for employee training.
She left informational flyers at the podium and encouraged board members and business owners to pass the information along.
