Main Street DDA adopts budget, approves $10,000 amendment for West Maumee relief fund and purchases event services

The Main Street Downtown Development Authority approved its 2025 budget, aligned with the City of Adrian, and authorized a series of event-related expenditures at its May 15 meeting.
The board unanimously approved a $10,000 budget amendment to move funds into a West Maumee relief fund. Jay, the DDA executive director, said the community raised more than $26,000 for the relief effort and the amendment simply formalizes moving money between accounts to reflect that fundraising.
The board also accepted the annual budget as approved by the city commission. Jay said he worked with Finance Director Nathan Owen and the DDA treasurer on the budget, noting a more detailed line-item breakdown this year. The board moved and approved the budget by voice vote.
On event operations, the board voted to accept a proposal from SoundDoctor to provide sound services for downtown events in 2025–26, citing cost and service level as the deciding factors. Jay said SoundDoctor submitted the lower quote for routine weekly work while RedLetter has equipment suited to larger one-off events.
Separately, the board approved a one-year purchase of Urality software at a first-year cost Jay gave as $5,488, which he said includes a one-time $2,500 data-transfer fee. Jay described Urality as a single platform to replace and consolidate the current MuniBit and Maestro systems, streamline event signups, produce live maps and calendars, and provide a customer-relationship management (CRM) function for business outreach. He said the annual cost thereafter would be roughly $2,994 (about $249 per month).
The board approved all action items by voice vote. The DDA will proceed with contract execution and implementation steps, including the planned late-June data migration for the Urality platform.
