Adrian approves three-year collective bargaining agreement with IAFF Local 1511; commission held closed session on firefighter negotiations

Adrian’s City Commission approved Resolution R25-042 on July 7, adopting a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Adrian and IAFF Local 1511.
Human Resources presented the resolution; a motion from Commissioner Gauss with seconds from Commissioners Miller and Roberts carried on a roll-call vote with all commissioners voting yes. Commissioners also referenced earlier discussion and a closed-session motion that allowed negotiation of firefighter contract matters: at the start of the meeting the commission moved, by motion from Commissioner Roberts and second from Commissioner Casselberry, into closed session to discuss IAFF negotiations and contract support.
During public comments and commissioner remarks staff and commissioners noted that the firefighter contract had been funded for the next three years; no detailed financial figures were read into the record at the July 7 session. The agreement was described as a standard collective bargaining settlement and the city will implement contract terms through Human Resources and the fire department.
