The Planning Board on Jan. 26 approved a straightforward bylaw edit to replace references to "SHOPC" with the official name of the town’s Affordable Housing Trust.
Staff explained there are three places in the bylaws where the acronym "SHOPC" appears; the proposed amendment removes each instance and inserts the full official title — "Board of Trustees of the Affordable Housing Trust" — with an option to show the acronym (AHT or SAHT) parenthetically once for later use in the bylaw text.
Board members and invited Trust representatives discussed the correct official title and agreed the full name should appear at first reference. Staff said the amendment is part of the Feb. 9 public-hearing docket and hoped it could be placed on a consent agenda where appropriate.
No final vote was taken at the Jan. 26 meeting; the change will proceed as a warrant article and be considered at the public hearing.
