The House Budget Committee reported CS for HB 1081 favorably after adopting an amendment broadening eligibility. Leader Saroy introduced the bill authorizing the Department of Commerce to create a cybersecurity internship program. Leader Driscoll offered amendment barcode 361855 to include private colleges and universities that have attained the program designation; the amendment was adopted by voice vote and attached to the bill.
Matt Herndon of United Way Miami waved in support during public testimony. With no additional debate, the committee closed discussion, took roll and reported the bill favorably. The committee record shows the amendment was adopted and the bill, as amended, reported favorably for further consideration.
