Planning Director Jenny presented easement documents the town negotiated with the property owner for 220 Turnpike Road and 161 Milk Street, explaining the route was shifted from the original feasibility study and that lender approval enabled the property closing. Jenny said the location "was able to also get lender approval at that time, due to the language that's proposed in the easement." The board discussed Section 2 / Meadow Road alternatives and noted additional study of that stretch is underway.
Select Board members said accepting the easement is consistent with prior planning‑board conditions and project history; one member noted the easement had been part of earlier planning approvals and that delaying acceptance could jeopardize financing or construction timing. One member urged broader community outreach before future easements are added elsewhere along the trail.
A motion pursuant to Article 19 of the October special town meeting warrant was made to approve and execute the easement documents for the two parcels. The board voted to approve execution of the easement documents for 220 Turnpike Road and 161 Milk Street as presented.
