Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center said it has added 10 beds, placed a surgical robot into service, and entered design for a community 'one-stop outpatient medical hub' in Prescott Valley; no opening date was provided.
Dr. Anthony Torres, president and CEO of Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center, told attendees that the health system has increased capacity and is planning new outpatient services in Prescott Valley.
Torres said the hospital recently received a surgical robot and added 10 beds at the Prescott Valley campus; the system also opened a sports medicine clinic locally and "added 14 health care providers to the market" between July and October, with plans to add a total of 60 providers over the next four years.
Looking ahead, Torres described a plan to create a "one-stop outpatient medical hub" in Prescott Valley that would co-locate primary care, specialty care, medical imaging, ambulatory surgical services, laboratory, pharmacy, urgent care and supporting services in a single campus. He said the project is entering the design phase and that no specific opening date was available.
Torres framed the expansion as a response to projected outpatient growth in the county and to patient demand for care closer to home: "Outpatient services in Yavapai County are projected to grow 22% over the next 10 years," he said, and "surgical procedures done in an ambulatory surgical center are projected to grow by 19% nationally."
